Trisha Yearwood

 Yearwood has won three Grammy Awards among several nominations. She has also won the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music awards for Best Female Performer (CMA: 1997, 1998; ACM: 1997).

Yearwood was inducted into the famed and historic Grand Ole Opry in 1999, cementing her status as a true icon in country music. She cites this, along with appearing on Sesame Street and being a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune, as the signs that she's "made it."

Trisha's latest single was a duet with Garth called "Love Will Always Win". It is the fifth duet the couple has recorded; the others were "In Another's Eyes," "Where Your Road Leads," "Wild as the Wind," and "Squeeze Me In."

Yearwood lives on a ranch in Owasso, Oklahoma with husband Brooks and his three daughters. When she's not touring, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and reading.

Yearwood recently announced plans to head back into the studio to begin recording her 12th album.

Goodbye to a Legendary Tortoise Harriet, a 330-pound tortoise, dies at age 176 A 176-year-old giant tortoise named Harriet died Friday at a zoo in Australia. Harriet, who weighed around 330 pounds, died of heart failure. Harriet's owner, Steve Irwin, hosts the Animal Planet network's popular show The Crocodile Hunter. Irwin and his wife, Terri, mourned Harriet's death. British scientists have built what they say is the world's first artificial stomach: a shiny, high-tech box that physically simulates human digestion. "There have been lots of jam-jar models of digestion before," said Dr. Martin Wickham of Norwich's Institute of Food Research, the artificial gut's chief designer, referring to the beakers of enzymes typically used to approximate the chemical reactions in the stomach. Wickham's patented artificial gut is a two-part model that is slightly larger than a desktop computer. The top half consists of a funnel in which food, stomach acids and digestive enzymes are mixed.
